Bano Qudsia بانو قدسیہ also known as Bano Aapa.
Bano Qudsia was born in Firozpur,
on 28 November 1928.
in British India.

Pakistan along with her family.

She wrote

In 1983, Qudsia was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz
(Star of Excellence) by the Government of
Pakistan.

received PTV Best Writer Award.

In 2010, the Pakistani government awarded her the
Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Crescent of Excellence)
for her services in literature.
In 2016, the GCU's Old Ravians Union (GCU-ORU)
at its annual reunion conferred on her

lifetime achievement award.
The same year,
the Pakistan Life Care Foundation (PLCF)
also awarded the lifetime achievement
award to Qudsia.
On 28 November 2020,

Family.
She belonged to
a landlord family of Chaudhry Badr-ul-Zaman Chattha. Most of her family members
were engaged in the occupation of farming and landlord. Badr-ul-zaman, her
father had a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and died was Bano was at a tender
age. Her mother, Zakira Begum was an educationalist who inspired Bano to become
a writer. After the demise of her father, Zakira Begum took care of the higher
education of her children.

Bano Qudsia got
her bachelor’s degree from Kinard College Lahore. After they migrated to
Pakistan, she got admission to in MA Urdu literature at the Government College
University (GCU). She completed her master’s degree in 1951.
Career
Bano’s career in
writing started in 1947 with the encouragement of Ashfaq Ahmad during their
college days.
Death.
Bano Qudsia died on 4 February 2017 at the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore at the age of 88.
